My bi-monthly early morning shift and the first thing I see is this tailgate. Unfortunately not a factory offered feature....

It’s temporarily fixed now, but the hinge hardware on that side is damaged and will need to be repaired. Gaaaaaah

It’s like you bought a promaster in disguise.

We’ve got a truck at work we’re pretty sure is cursed, too. It hasn’t injured anyone, but it’s come d amn close on an alarming number of occasions. It wrote off three vehicles last season, all the other driver’s fault. The last one, buddy in a 3/4 ton came flying around a corner at well over the limited, slid across the road, and went dead on into the plow blade at about 45mph. On the way back from g ettin g the frame straightened after that collision, the truck got struck by lightning, cooking most of the electrical system. We didn’t get it back after that until after summer, then it plowed for a week and the hydraulic pump grenaded itself, and sent shrapnel through the system, requiring a full rebuild. Two days after we got it back from that, the truck hooked an edge on a four-month-old section of pavement, and got shot off down a scree slope... the recovery required two heavy cranes. It made it about a month after it got dragged back out, and now it’s down because the front tandem diff grenaded itself, which is only 3 years old with 75 ,000 miles on it . We’ve got six heavy plows, and somehow all the crazy shit happens to the same one. We’ve got another identical truck to the cursed one, and it’s been flawless, despite running pretty much around the clock this season, making up for other trucks that have gone down .

Have you considered an exorcism? Because holy crap. I’d refuse to drive it at this point.

Some of our drivers are more nervous around it, sure. We have joked about having a smudge for it, but no one’s been injured yet. We’re not totally convinced we need to go that route just quite yet, but if more shit happens we may need to get something else involved.
